Introduction:Considered to be one of the most diverse/ complex biomes. Corals, besides humans, are the only animals that can build structures that can be seen by space.
Definition: According to goggle definitions “Coral Reefs are aragonite structures produced by living animal colonies, found in marine waters containing few nutrients. In most healthy reefs, stony corals are predominant. Stony corals are built from colonial polyps that secrete an exoskeleton of calcium carbonate.”
Map of biome:
Biotic Factors (animals, plants, algae, etc. living things): Coral Algae Fish Molluscs Echinoderms Sponges
Abiotic Factors (rain, wind, temperature, location, soil quality, seasons): No rain/ wind because underwater Usually warm Many all over the world No soil Just two seasons, wet season and dry season
Additional Info. (any famous landmarks, famous types of your biome ex- Sahara Desert, anything well-known in biome, how is biodiversity, etc. make it interesting!!)
Great Barrier Reef is the only natural structure that you can see from space
algae keeps live coral and dead coral stuck together
some coral reefs are so small that you can't even see them
